Family  Learning

With and for parents and carers in the community

This term's programme

Family Learning is part of the Community Based Adult Learning strand of Community Learning and Development.  We aim to work with parents and carers who wish to stay involved in their chilren's learning after they have started nursery and school.

By working in small friendly groups and large area events (e.g. transition, holiday activities) we encourage parents and carers to look at, and value their own family's learning.

We support and value what parents and carers already do at home and in everyday lives.

In a Family Learning Group you could:

  • Share experiences with other parents and carers
  • Find out more about your child's education
  • Help your child with reading and writing
  • Brush up on your own learning skills
  • Learn new skills
  • Build stronger links with your child's school
